Music Shorts Film Festival jury ROCKS!
Our Music Shorts jury knows what they’re looking (and listening) for
In his book Rock and Roll Will Save Your Life, Steve Almond writes, “The only thing wrong with music, as far as I’m concerned, is that you cannot eat it.” The good news – ever since The Beatles started bringing visuals to their music in the mid ‘60s – is we can see it.
Audience voting has already begun for our entries and will be open through May 23rd. Our unbelievable jury takes over from there. We’d love to introduce you.
We can’t get enough of Paz Lenchantin, bassist for the Pixies and beloved member of the Super 8 community. She earned the Avant-Garde Award at this year’s AudFest after she rocked the stage. She scored her film The Spider Lady live using a violin, electric bass, a loop pedal and her voice. She knows music and she know film.
Our second juror is Southern rock goddess Shelly Fairchild. Some kind of Bonnie Raitt/Grace Potter mashup, Fairchild has lent her voice to smash hits including Jason Aldean’s No. 1 single “Burnin’ It Down” and the Top 10 Eric Church track “Creepin’,” among others. She is currently on tour supporting select dates for country superstar Martina McBride.
Germano Saracco, our third juror and an award-winning cinematographer, is an international filmmaker, honing his skills both in the States and Europe. A specialist in melding light, color and texture, his aerial cinematography demonstrates the same sensitivity and subtleties to his subject, whether for a feature film, film for TV, commercial, music video, documentary. We’re grateful to have him on the jury for Audience Awards Music Shorts Film Festival.
